Some news here, some good news ..... look :







So it works.....!!!

In fact, i just do nothing.....just connect the BT5 to my MED9.1, on the CANH and CANL pins....

But if i consider this result, the only difference between my test table and my car is that the other PINs are not connected....
What do you think about this?
A bug with the auto detection?

The data log is helpful. Unfortunately the ECU is very expensive. I will see if I can fix the problem...

It works, with about 22 Fps, witch is pretty good.....

Well .... i made a little test, with a wire on the Kline....

On my table test, with Kline wired, it still connect, but it's more difficult to.
But if i plugged BT5 in my car, nothing to do.....it doesn't get any data.

Were can i find the full PIN diagram of the BT5 ?

I use an other init sequence of the diagnostic session. But it should work as we see. Did you have the timing of your CAN data above?

Can you check out the problem with the K-Line? Connect the WBH to your table ECU with connected K-Line between both.
1. Is there a communication possible?
2. disconnect K-Line between WBH-Diag and ECU. connect the K-Line via a ca. 10 (or 100) kOhm resistor to VCC (Pull-Up)
3. Is there a communication possible?
4. disconnect the junction of K-Line to VCC. Connect the K-Line via a ca. 10 (or 100) kOhm resistor to GND (Pull-Down)
5. Is there a communication possible?

Well, i make a little test :



i made a custom wire, witch connect the car ----> BT5, only with CANH and CANL pins connected....
It doesn't work!!!!

So, my conclusion:

If i connect directly on the ECU CAN pin, it works fine.
If i connect on the car (even with only CAN pins), it doesn't work.
So, there's something on the car witch make the communication wrong.....

Perhaps the GATEWAY?
The CAN propulsion ID?

Another thing to know, that is important i guess : the CAN data log is from my ECU table test, so i think it's not enough revelant of the session diag, on the car.

What do you think about this difference between the CAN ECU, and the CAN OBD car connector?


For the Kline slow issue, i'll make the test you suggest.....i just need a few moment.

According to my understanding, the time to ack is 10ms, and the timing between two packets is 5ms :

0x740 Len: 6 Data: 0xA0 0x0F 0x8A 0xFF 0x32 0xFF
0x300 Len: 6 Data: 0xA1 0x0F 0x8A 0xFF 0x4A 0xFF

The BT5 doesn't ACK after authentification.....so, the ECU send 3 times the request.....

Thank you for your help. So it makes fun to search for mistakes and work. I buy a MED9.1 but it will be take a little time to receive it for my own testing.
I think i figured out the problem. It was a problem in the calculation of the blockcounts. Attached an updated firmware. Please try it (make sure there is no suspens mode on the PC) and response the result.

First, let me say thank's for the support.....
I update the BT5 with success (1 hour ), and i can say now : IT WORK on the car!!!!!

This said, and because i'm a very "borring" guy ( ), i've a lot of questions, requests, ideas.....

Are you OK to continue working together, in order to make the BT5 better?

Feel free to write your suggestions and questions. The problem is that there is no free space in the controller for new code. Good luck for your App

Hi Florian,

regarding that free space stuff....
is there a way to implement something like a "raw" mode on the adapter and interpret the protocol in software? Maybe this would allow more functionality...
