Is English OK?

I am having a problem with VCDS scanning a 2008 Bentley Continental GT.

These cars are VAG and use many many VAG parts.

They have 3 can busses and a gateway in the instrument panel which then connects to the OBD II port. On some cars the powertrain bus and comfort bus also connect to the OBD II port on pins 3,11 and 8,9.

The car has K line too.

I can scan all modules with VCDS except transmission and ABS.

The car reports NO errors or DTC's. There are NO CEL lights. It drives perfect.

So I do not understand why VCDS will not scan all modules.

I would like to try a WBH-diag pro device.

Anyone tried a WBH-diag pro with Bentley?

One more thing. On VCDS, I can check a box that says "Bypass Can Init". If I do this, I can communicate with Transmission and ABS! But I do not understand why. Ross-tech are not helping!

Cheers!

I think you have no original VCDS?

Hello Florian!

No, I paid £225 for VCDS! It is genuine.

I have kept asking Ross-tech for some help. They have now said that they think the transmission in the GT just will not talk on Canbus to VCDS. Only on K-line.

This seems odd, but I do not know enough about Canbus systems to comment. Maybe there is a special way to ask the transmission for data?

They say that the 06 car I scanned was certainly using K line. VCDS appears to use K line itself, but not on my car. I don't know how they know VCDS used K-line as there is nothing obvious in the log. (They say this is a trade secret!)

The ABS also appears to talk on K-line OK but not on Canbus. It connects but drops out repeatedly.

Anyway, I would like to try WBH on my car. Is there a way I can be a beta-tester for WBH on Bentley cars? If WBH can read all my cars modules, I would be happy to pay for it!

This can possible. CAN can used internally and not for diagnosis.
If you have an original interface it will work and if no diagnosis is possible it is so :nixweiss:
