Hi everybody, I hope it is okay that I speak english since I do not know enough german to speak it.
First let me start of by saying I have tried to read all the debugging text with the help of Google translate and my limited knowledge of german, but I have not found (or maybe just didn't understand) any tips on what the issue I am experiencing might be so I hope I can get some guidance to resolving it. I have already tried both vag-com and WBH-Diag 0.89 and both work in my car so the port is working and using protocol KW1281.

What happens is that when I connect my WBH-Diag LCD to the port the LCD screen lights up and I hear a beep but there is not text or anything on the screen and pushing the button does not do anything either. I tried to change the contrast (at maximum all I get is black squares) and brightness, but without much result. The board was soldered by OBD2-Shop.eu so I would think it was done correctly, all I did was resolder the light sensor to the other side of the board (taking into account polarity so that it is correct) and the cable from the board to the ODB2 connector. I think I have soldered the cable correctly since I soldered VCC to pin 16, GND to pin 4 and pin 5 (so that they are shorted) and the K line to pin 7.

Any sugggestions to what might be wrong?

If you buy the display ready assembled from us, we have tested before shipping. The display must show a welcome message after power on. Maybe there is a cold solder pad at the pins of the LCD which was disconnected while shipping?

Sorry for my late reply, I did take a look but can not see anything that is not soldered good so I do not know what the problem might be. I think the best idea would be to send it back so you can have a look at it too. Is there a way I can contact you privately since if I send it I will have to fill out a proforma so that neither you or I pay for export/import and I would not like to discuss that in an open forum?
